Plug In America is working harder than ever to get electric vehicles on the road. As shown in Plug In America's Year End Summary our 2008 milestones have made a tremendous difference to this movement. To name just a few:

• Ford, Toyota, and other car companies now are calling Plug In America for input - quite a role reversal!
• Plug In America led campaigns to promote plug-in vehicles that generated thousands of letters to political officials and drew intense media coverage.
• Plug In America was named as one of the top most influential nonprofit organizations on matters relating to transportation and the environment.
• Plug In America's creative web 2.0 efforts to educate the public about the reality of plug-in vehicles quadrupled our supporter base;

With your help, Plug In America will accomplish even more in 2009 when President-elect Obama takes office. We're giving it everything we've got! Watch a short Tesla Roadster ride into the future; hear my appeal for your support.

Three short years ago Plug In America's founders stood together as a group of passionate and dedicated electric vehicle advocates, determined to challenge automakers and prevent wholesale EV destruction. Sadly, we lost the GM battle for the EV1, but we won the war with hundreds of Ford and Toyota electric vehicles that remain on the road to this day. Plug In America continues to make history. Now nearly every major car company plans to produce plug-ins.

This doesn't mean our work is over. Plug In America is now leading an entire movement to see that one million plug-in cars are produced by 2012; ten million by 2016. With your help we'll soon see plug-in cars for sale behind showroom windows and driving on American freeways. This happy result will not come from auto companies alone. It must come from consumer demand -- your demand. Our voice must be heard in Washington, and our consumer database must continue to grow. Clearly, we need your support.
